Garden Suggestions

Carly,

Words cannot express the sheer love I have for you and your wonderful music, books, and outlook on life. Thank you for the years of understanding and expressing life. With Spring upon us, I am anxious to get into the garden and plant flowers to brighten my home. Do you have any favorite flowers that you plant in your own yard? And where in your yard is your favorite place to be? Thanks for listening and allowing me to listen to your wonderful voice through the years. You are a treasure!

Marty Watson - Charleston, Illinois

Dear Marty,

If I am not around for peonie season, I think of the year as a black hole in the big sky. However, I love roses of all kinds, apple blossoms, sweet peas, flox, lilies, lilacs. I could go on for quite some time.

Happy gardening.

Pets & Music

Hello Carly!

I have been a great fan for many years and now it seems you have a new fan in my cat! His name is Cyrano and whenever I play one of your CD's he lays in front of the stereo on his back with his paws up and a bit of a grin on his face. I have played other artists and you are the only one he responds to in this way. I think this proves that pets have their favorite musical artists as much as human beings do.

Do your pets have THEIR favorite artists or music that they respond to in a certain way? Just curious!

Michael Gordon Wirick - Cincinnati, OH

Dear Michael,

Actually no. I would feel I was making something up if I responded some way. I could probably make it happen if I combined treats with a special artist or song over a long period of time. My cat has been unfortunately adopted and in a terrible misunderstaning, not given back. I miss her terribly, but I trust the girl who has her in her household and other than the misunderstanding, it's really o.k.

Thank heavens Molly and I are so attached although I am in NY right now and she remains on the Vineyard. I miss her terribly. Jane (my friend who is there with her) says she turns on the weather channel every time she leaves the house, so she might be quite enchanted especially by the local weather. Who knows. I'll look into it further.

Very best to you, Carly - 4/19/06

Children's Song Selection

Dear Carly,

I was lucky enough to attend your fantastic concert in Chicago in December. Ben and Sally each performed one of "your" songs during their sets - Sally taking on "Boys On The Trees", and Ben doing a rendition of "That's The Way I've Always Heard It Should Be". What made them pick those particular songs..are they their favorites? Or did they do different ones in different cities?

Thanks for all the years of great music.. and looking forward to many more!

Love, Jim - Skokie, IL

It was a miracle. They chose them themselves. It was a precious moment for me.
