Cakewalk

Carly, I recently heard that you were involved with the music for an Off-Broadway show called Cakewalk back in 1996,1997. Can you tell us about it? How did you get involved? Was it a success? Has the music ever been produced or published?

You continue to amaze me with your diverse accomplishments. It just adds to my admiration of you. I hope you continue to surprise me and all your fans with future endeavors.
You're the best, Dave De Vecchis - Providence, RI

Hi Dave,
It was/is a play based on Peter Feibleman's book called "Lilly" (based on his relationship with Lillian Hellman). Peter is by the way, one of the great living authors of fiction and there are many great novels and plays in his repetoire. (read The Columbus Tree).

"Cakewalk" the play, was originally produced at the ART in Cambridge. It was then directed by Mike Nichols off broadway. A really delicious evening to have attended. I wrote some kind of sweet corny/cum of what I think New Orleans must be about type music and Teese, my friend, did the orchestrations. (you know, Teese Gohl? He did that arrangement I think is incredible and totally enhances the song: "In honor of you George". Thank you kindly for noticing this. Love Carly - 8/26/03
